Understanding Coordinated Specialty Care Best Practice Through Fidelity Practices: A Qualitative Exploration

Dissertation Committee Chair: Brandon Kohrt, PhD

April, 5, 2023, 3 – 5 PM ET

Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) is an interdisciplinary team model of care for providing care to youth and young adults having their first episode of psychosis. While outcomes of CSC effectiveness are overwhelmingly positive, and widespread implementation has occurred in all US states and territories, what is CSC best practice is not clear. Exploring how all stakeholders of CSC experience the current CSC practices of implementation and fidelity monitoring can ensure CSC best practice is relevant and meaningful. This qualitative instrumental case study describes how Coordinated Specialty Care program clinicians and decision-makers experience fidelity monitoring and what components of the CSC fidelity model are most relevant to them.
